OK4

Pricom has produced the OK range of software since version 4 (OK4) in 1987. OK4 is a DOS based word processor utilising "character graphics" mode on VGA screens. This arrangement allows 30 rows of 80 columns of up to 2,000 different characters to be freely mixed. A visual keyboard allows easy selection of the large number of characters available on each key.

The standard OK 4.0 package of programs include the UNIVERS font (about 1200 scientific/technical/mathematical symbols, graphics and French, German, Italian, Spanish, Indonesian, Polish, Norwegian, Swedish, Dutch, Hungarian, Turkish, Slovenian, Maltese, Finnish, Pidgin, Czech, Slovak, Croatian, Portuguese, Latvian, Lithuanian and a few others language characters and italics).

As well as UNIVERS these extra fonts are available for Epson LQ compatible 24 pin printers (prices subject to change without warning). Fonts starting with the letter "UN" have the UNIVERS set in the first four alternate character slots.

UNARABIC (pointed and unpointed), UNGREEK (all varieties including Classical, Koine and Modern Greek), UNHEBREW (pointed and unpointed) UNARAMAIC (unpointed or with several pointing systems), UNCOPTIC, UNSYRIAC (pointed and unpointed), UNETHIOPIC, OTHER ANCIENT BIBLICAL LANGUAGES, "BIBLANG" (All of the above - WITHOUT UNIVERS), UNVIETNAMESE, UNCYRILLIC (Russian, Macedonian, Serbian, Belorussian Bulgarian and Ukrainian), Yugoslavian - Macedonian, Serbian & Croatian, MUSIC, SCRIPTS (old and stylised english fonts), MUNIVERS (Extended UNIVERS font - Macquarie Uni.)

These fonts could be developed:

JAPANESE (Basic), JAPANESE (Advanced), KHMER, LAOTIAN, IRANIAN, THAI, CHINESE, KOREAN, TURKISH, PASHTU, HINDI, URDU, FARSI, BURMESE

Other character fonts could also be produced.

OK4 has been superceded by fully graphical word processors and is now largely of historical interest only.
